A Phenomenological Study on Effects of the Workhardening Program in Industrial Accident Workers

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study is to examine the physical and psychological changes in the experience of workers with industrial accident through phenomenological research methods.

Methods : We interviewed workers who were hospitalized at the Welfare Corporation S hospital or who were in hospital treatment. The contents of the interviews were recorded, and additional contents confirmation after the interview was analyzed by telephone or interview.

Results : The contents of the interviews were summarized in terms of physical and psychological aspects. The physical part included the main meanings of muscle strength, posture change, function improvement, and stretching, and the psychological part included the main meaning of stability and confidence.

Conclusion : In order to restore occupation of industrial accidented workers, a work capacity strengthening program was implemented. The workhardening program is affected to improve the physical strength and stability of the body such as strengthening muscles, reducing pain, increasing grip strength, improving leg function, correcting posture, improving arm function, improving knee bending, It changes psychological parts such as anxiety and relieves anxiety, so it not only strengthens the ability to work on returning to work but also has effects on physical and psychological.
